Its centerpiece is called “urban string”, Ensemble Resonanz’s monthly concert series for chamber music and electronic art. Here, the programs are developed by the musicians themselves and presented on stage in dialogue with DJs.

As a chamber music hall and club space, resonanzraum is used by other artists and organizers for concerts, performances and special events from a wide range of artistic disciplines. The combination of classical and contemporary music culture, award-winning architecture and excellent acoustics makes the resonanzraum a home for an urban classical music audience in Hamburg and a space for new formats and encounters.

In 2014, resonanzraum received the »Club Award« as Music Club of the Year for its innovative program. Its unique architecture, designed by architecture firm pfp architekten, was awarded 2nd prize in the BDA Hamburg Architecture Prize in 2016. The resonanzraum records label was founded in 2017.
