With Gianluca Cascioli & Riccardo Minasi
A surprisingly different Beethoven
Gianluca Cascioli, Riccardo Minasi and the Ensemble Resonanz present two milestones in piano literature with Beethoven's Piano Concertos No. 4 and Op. 61a, the latter an autograph transcription of his Violin Concerto. Based on intensive source research in the archive of the Wiener Musikverein and on Beethoven’s handwritten notes, some of which have been deciphered for the first time, the performers have recorded Concerto No. 4 with a new, alternative version of the piano part – in a “work form that is even more varied and virtuosic fails« (Riccardo Minasi).
