World premiere at the International Summer Festival Kampnagel! Philosopher Cornel West once called her »the Toni Morrison of hip-hop«: akua naru – musician, scholar and activist – brings an impressive concert production to the stage with Ensemble Resonanz featuring new compositions by Tyshawn Sorey. Under the direction of Anta Helena Recke, akua presents her own interpretation of Tricia Rose’s »Longing to Tell« – stories of Black women about love and loss, tenderness and violence, intimacy and community.

Developed as part of the Körber Resonanz Lab, a collaboration between Ensemble Resonanz and the Körber Foundation. This platform is dedicated to developing innovative, trans-traditional concert projects performed in European concert halls.
